about

Orbiting Orion Records will reissue "Found Noises and Sonic Detritus"
the second album in the Elysium trilogy in late October of this year.
The album will feature previously unreleased and newly remastered tracks.

JEAN GUY LEMAC:
"Paul (Christensen) was working with a couple of synths that were linked via Midi cables, programming them independently. Occasionally, the mdi messages transmitted between the two synthesizers caused a 'sync error', sometimes the results were reduced to a single tone, other times the sequences overlapped in a peculiar fashion.

Upon hearing this, Dave (Gerard) plugged the output into a digital multi-track recorder, and sampled about 12 seconds of it. This was then recorded via a 4-track recorder as a tape loop. As the tape loop played, each musician overdubbed a supporting instrumental track, independent of hearing what the others had laid down. Then I mixed down the final recording by clock syncing the performances in Protools, but Gerard insisted on throwing in some velocity markers at indiscriminate points during the final mastering.
